Myrtle Beach FC signs former MLS player as Head Coach
Myrtle Beach FC announces the signing of former New England Revolution striker, and the 1st player to be inducted into the Charleston Battery (of the USL) Hall of Fame Patrick 'Thunder' Olalere.
Myrtle Beach FC's season starts May 2012, but there is plenty of work to be done. Including lining up sponsors and a pair of try outs set for January, and a final try out in February. Several candidates were interviewed to be the Head Coach of Myrtle Beach FC, Trym Hogner said of the interviews "Patrick's tactical knowledge and scouting ability, put him above the pack. Patrick came to us highly recommended and after meeting him we KNEW he was the perfect fit! Being the Head Coach of Myrtle Beach FC is a great opportunity for Patrick. This is a prestigious position - and this puts Patrick on a Grand Stage to showcase his tremendous coaching ability."
Patrick Olalere was born in Lagos, Nigeria and went to college at Carson-Newman in Tennessee.
Olalere was selected to the Nigerian national Team in 1990 and he was a two-time All-American at Carson Newman college.
Patrick played on the Charleston Battery's 1996 championship team, where he led the team in total points with 27 goals and 6 assists, That year his 27 goals in regular season was tops in the USISL Pro League, before being drafted to the New England Revolution.

Patrick said of the opportunity, he continued "We will take one game at a time to achieve the winning results. We are looking forward to a great season and first year."
Myrtle Beach FC recently announced the opening of their office at Physicians Weight Loss Center in Myrtle Beach, and have been at work scouting players, and discussing sponsorship opportunities with local and national businesses.
