Myrtle Beach FC announces Doug Shaw Memorial as their Home for the 2012 NPSL Season!

Myrtle Beach FC to call to Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium Home!
Myrtle Beach FC announced today it will call Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium home starting with a season opening game the first weekend of May.
We have been interested in Doug Shaw Memorial stadium since we first started this project" said Trym Hogner, Myrtle Beach FC President of the agreement with the stadium. "The stadium is a professional, quality stadium. It just adds another layer of professionalism to our club. Coach Thunder, top of the line stadium, great sponsors, it all adds up to an exciting season. Now we can rally the City and visitors to pack this stadium for years to come!" Former Charleston Battery striker Patrick 'Thunder' Olalere signed by Myrtle Beach FC last month to be the teams first Head Coach said "The pitch is fast! I scored a goal or two at this stadium in the late 90's.The field then was nothing like it is now, it's beautiful, fast, professional!" Coach Thunder continued "We have to get our guys used to this field, once they are used to it, teams wont know what hit them! We could be up 2-0 in an instant!"
Myrtle Beach FC will face Atlanta Silverbacks NASL Reserve team, Georgia Revolution, NPSL Champions Jacksonville United, Rocket City and Knoxville Force all at Doug Shaw Memorial stadium in 2012.
The schedule dates and times wont be released until after the NPSL league meeting January 15th.
Myrtle Beach FC holds open tryouts on January 28th at 1:30pm at the Market Common YMCA fields.

In Myrtle Beach FC's attempt to be one of the most interactive Sports Clubs, they held a 'Which Stadium' contest on Facebook asking fans to guess which stadium for a chance to win a team souvenir.
Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium went through a $3.2 million dollar renovation in 2008 and has been home to the Myrtle Beach Seahawks High School football team and many major track and field events each year. Doug Shaw Memorial holds 6,500 including standing room.
