Myrtle Beach FC Announces Open Tryouts at the Market Common Fields

Myrtle Beach FC will hold their first ever open tryouts, on Saturday January 28th, 2012. Myrtle Beach FC's Head Coach, former Charleston Battery Striker, Patrick 'Thunder' Olalere will lead the tryouts of hopefuls. When Coach Thunder was asked what kind of player he was looking for he responded "We are looking for players with good attitude and character, players who can take direction, learn and grow with coaching." Coach Thunder continued to stress "We're going to be playing in the division with last years NPSL Champions in Jacksonville, and several other quality clubs, so we need players who want to play at the next level!"

Coach Thunder who joined the Charleston Battery after trying out while on Spring Break from Carson-Newman college in 1993, finds himself on the other side of a similar situation "I tried out and the Coach says ok, we'll let you know. I went back to College, and 1 week went by, then 2, then 3, I was like oh no, then 4 weeks later, I get a call from Coach Hankinson, and he asked if I was ready?... YES!" Coach Thunder said on his interview at MySoccerShow.com. When asked how he made sure to make an impression at his tryout Coach Thunder said "When going to try out for the Charleston Battery, I made sure I was physically fit, technically polished, tactically ready and mentally sound. With that I could break into any squad! Be READY is the advice I'll give the players who come to try out in January."

Coach Thunder squashed any concerns over the team being able to come together between the February 4th final tryouts and the likely Early April opening game. "3 full months of getting ready is no problem. Our squad is going to gel by selecting passionate players who understand and play their roles well. Consistent training and hard work will be key in our first year."
